Defense Analyst Pierre Sprey radio interview Jan 16, 2019, WORT-FM

WORT Radio 98.7FM, A Public Affair – January 16, 2019

As part of our ongoing coverage of the F-35 fighter jets, today Allen is joined by defense analyst Pierre Sprey, an outspoken critic of the F-35s who raises serious concerns about their safety. Over the course of the hour, Sprey makes the case for how the F-35s weaken US air power and why opposing them is not a partisan issue, along with answering listener questions about politicians, nuclear power, and the military-industrial complex.

Pierre Sprey is a defense analyst who helped develop the A-10 and the F-16 fighters in the 1970s and 80s. He previously worked as a consultant at Grumman Aircraft and was a special assistant at the Office of the Secretary of Defense from 1966 to 1970. He retired in 1986 but has continued to monitor the development of military jets and most recently has raised serious concerns regarding the F-35.
